Product: RiskMon
Description: ATS' RiskMon (Risk Monitor) system enables firms to accurately monitor and manage margin exposure in real time. This advanced system has features and capabilities that match and even exceed very expensive conventional systems, addressing the high volume needs of retail brokers as well as the complex requirements of institutional firms.
RiskMon continuously monitors designated margin accounts and proactively e-mails and pages designated personnel with intra-day updates on high-risk accounts. It also supports an intranet interface for ad-hoc reviewing of accounts and running 'what if' scenarios.
All of the system’s standard and customized reports are accessed through an intranet browser interface that permits easy linking of logical categories in the RiskMon system. For example, users can click on a security to see all accounts that hold that security; they can then click on a particular account to see detailed information about that account.
Examples of some of the most actively used screens/reports:
Account Review Page
This summary report lists all accounts that warrant close attention based on client-selectable criteria, (i.e. all accounts where the reduction in market value is greater than a designated % of equity).
Equity Losers and On-the-Brink Equity Losers Reports
These specialized reports provide a comprehensive list of accounts that require immediate action (i.e. equity % less than firm-designated guideline), and accounts on the borderline (within a specified range) of the account equity percentage threshold set by the firm.
What If Scenarios
This feature allows users to run hypothetical scenarios, such as IBM dropping 20 per cent. RiskMon uses the what-if prices to determine the effect on the monitored account base. Multiple scenarios can be created and maintained.
Security Summary Screen
Shows detailed information for all securities held by monitored accounts based on firm-selected criteria (i.e. securities that declined in value where total long position among all accounts is greater than a designated $ value).
Account Detail Screens
This allows each account to be displayed in detail, including cash, margin, short account positions, and much more.
End-of-Day Recap Report
RiskMon consolidates all periodic reports generated during the day into one spreadsheet file that is e-mailed at a set time each day for firm review.
Operation: Riskmon currently monitors thousands of accounts for one of the largest retail institutions in the country. This software is deployed in client-server configuration.
